Fedora Media Support

It can be very frustrating trying to get all media types such mp3 to play on linux.  Because of legal issues these packages cannot be shipped with Fedora/Ubuntu/Any legal version of linux by default.  To get support you have to install these necessary packages yourself.  The first step is to enable the livna repostory, and then to download the gstreamer plugins.

[brad@localhost ~]$ sudo rpm -iv http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-9.rpm
[brad@localhost ~]$ sudo yum install totem-gstreamer
[brad@localhost ~]$ sudo yum install gstreamer-plugins-*
[brad@localhost ~]$ sudo yum install libdvdcss-* libdvdread

The last command should give you support to read dvds.  There should no longer be any issues when playing any protected music or video formats.
